The OROS brand is the world's first company to apply airgel, a material used by NASA as insulation material in spacesuits, to general apparel. This material has created ultra-cold weather clothing that can withstand temperatures down to -40°C, and is attracting attention from all over the world.

There is an anecdote about OROS. A member of the Antarctic expedition team wearing OROS clothing in an environment of -34 degrees Celsius raved about it, saying, ``It's just a little hot.'' It also attracted a lot of attention.

OUR STORY

OROS product development started out of dissatisfaction with existing clothing commonly available.

Clothes that use large amounts of feathers to provide warmth tend to be bulky. On the other hand, if you use thin fabric for ease of movement, it will be cold.
In order to resolve these contradictory complaints one by one, we were extremely particular about the selection of fabrics.
However, even after looking at all the fabrics commonly available in the world, it was hard to find one that made me think, ``This is it!''
As a result, we decided to take on the challenge of starting with fabric production and developing it in-house.
Also, during the development process, we encountered the damage to the global environment caused by humans using large amounts of feathers, and a situation that was the exact opposite of animal welfare, so OROS uses only materials that can coexist with the earth. I have come to the decision to do so.

This was also the moment when a new theme was born: ``Let's make an impact on a planet level'' by going beyond the framework of making clothing.
